Requirements
Joining Kafi’s volunteer network is open to anyone who shares our vision of a poverty‑free Horn of Africa. To ensure safety, impact, and alignment with our community‑driven approach, volunteers should meet the following basics:
- Be 18 years or older (or provide parental consent for youth programs).
- Commit at least 4 hours per week for a minimum of two months.
- Demonstrate respect for local culture and faith traditions.
- Provide two references (academic, professional, or community).
- Complete a brief online orientation covering child‑safeguarding and Kafi’s code of conduct.
Optional but valuable: professional skills in health, education, agriculture, micro‑finance, media, or IT.

- Submit the application form at the bottom of this page.
- Attend a 30‑minute virtual call with our volunteer coordinator to match your skills with current field needs.
- Complete the e‑orientation course (self‑paced; approx. 1 hour).
- Receive your project assignment —either on‑site in Somalia or remotely supporting fundraising, media, or data analysis.
- Start making an impact, backed by regular check‑ins, clear goals, and a dedicated supervisor.
